DEF presents itself at CPDP 2013

DEF presented new information on its membership structure and 2013 activities at the CPDP Conference in Brussels (23-25 January 2013).

This conference on Computers, Privacy and Data protection was attended by more than 400 experts from many different disciplines.

At a cocktail offered by DEF, our President (George Metakides) and a highly respected guest Prof. Luciano Floridi addressed the attendants.

Governance in the Digital Society

On 18-19 June 2012, the historical Abbaye de Neumünster, Luxembourg was the venue for the first annual meeting of the Digital Enlightenment Forum (DEF), a unique gathering of scientists, scholars, industry representatives and policy makers with the shared aim of better understanding the societal impact and policy implications of rapidly evolving digital technologies. Founded in Luxembourg in 2011, the Forum seeks to stimulate and facilitate debate among representatives of science and technology, law, business and policy, with a view to providing guidance.

DEF Seminar, April 2012

Trusted ICT for Finance

A new initiative by the DIGITAL ENLIGHTENMENT FORUM saw the successful launch of the DEF Seminar series on 23 April 2012. Entitled ‘Trusted ICT for Finance’, the first seminar was organised with the support of CRI (Luxembourg) S.A. and the Luxembourg School of Finance, University of Luxembourg. It focused on two important aspects of ICT in financial business:
