Happy 2022 from the Digital Enlightenment Forum!

Dear friends and colleagues,

As the first month of 2022 comes to its close, I would like to extend to all of you the warm wishes of the Digital Enlightenment Forum’s Board for the New Year. May it be better than the previous one and worse than the next one!

As you know, all our activities during 2021 were virtual as our Forum adjusted to the realities of the pandemic as did all other organizations. The unavoidable negative aspects of the lack of physical presence were, partially at least, mitigated by the experience gained in organizing online events as these will certainly stay with us as a useful complement to events with physical presence even after the pandemic has become endemic.

Having said this, we are really looking forward to actually getting together this year and we will soon be sharing our thoughts for a Digital Enlightenment Workshop in the summer or autumn, possibly as a follow-up to the Democracy event we organized in Brussels in November 2019.

Earlier, in May, we hope to have a “policy boot camp” for some of our Fireside Chats participants in Brussels.

We will also be reaching out for your advice and help in restructuring our Forum so that it can hit the ground running as soon as the pandemic constraints are lifted.

Be well and stay safe!
