How do we build a digital world that amplifies human dignity instead of eroding it? On 26 May 2025, the conversation takes center stage at the Digital Humanism Conference 2025, opening a three-day program in Vienna’s iconic MuseumsQuartier. Thought leaders from research, policy, and civil society will gather to “shape our digital future” by testing new ideas on AI governance, cybersecurity, democracy‑by‑design, and the economics of responsible innovation.
For the Digital Enlightenment Forum (DEF) community, this is not just another conference; it is a natural extension of our mission to ensure that people enjoy the same autonomy and freedom online that they cherish offline. Digital Enlightenment has long championed multidisciplinary debate on the societal impact of technology, publishing practical policy recommendations and nurturing emerging digital leaders.
#DigHum2025 brings together leading voices shaping a people-centered digital future. Dr. Erich Prem, President of the Digital Humanism Initiative, will play a central role across the three-day event: hosting the Digital Humanism Platform Reception on May 26, leading the session on The EU Digital Humanism Initiative (EUDHIT) on May 27, and delivering the summary session as the main speaker on May 28. On Tuesday, May 27, George Metakides, President of the Digital Enlightenment Forum, will chair the panel discussion on Governing AI.
